Postpartum Doula Services

How can a Postpartum Doula help?

The role of a postpartum doula is to provide in-home support to your family after your new baby is born.

Pregnancy and labor are difficult, transformative processes even in the best situations. A postpartum doula is there to help you work through this new part of your life. Every family’s needs are different, so think of us like Mary Poppins! Sometimes we do the dishes and fold your laundry, sometimes we play with your older kids, and sometimes we’re just here to help you talk through your emotions.

Unlike a nanny or a babysitter (whose focus is on the baby and their immediate physical needs), our primary focus as postpartum doulas is on helping parents gain confidence when taking care of their newborn. We bring skills and knowledge, and we teach you!

As postpartum doulas we do not provide medical care or advice of any kind. If your needs are beyond our scope of practice, we will refer you to an appropriate medical provider.

Postpartum Doula support can be infant care.
